In the middle of the crowd of cosplayers and attendees at Stan Lee’s Comikaze on Saturday, November 1st, I found Howie Mandel signing autographs for a long line of fans looking to meet the Deal or No Deal and Bobby’s World star at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Later this month, Howie will be headlining the All That Glitters Gala in support of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada in Toronto.

I asked Howie about his motivation to be involved with one of Canada’s biggest Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) fundraisers.

“I know a lot of people that suffer from [Crohn’s and Colitis] and [I’m more than happy to do] anything that we can do to raise awareness and funds to help the cause. And it’s my home country, so it’s an opportunity to go home and help [an organization] that’s needed.”

The All That Glitters Gala presents An Evening with Howie Mandel will be held on Tuesday November 18th, 2014 at The Allstream Centre in Toronto. Tables and tickets are still available at the All That Glitters Gala site. Fundraisers are held annually in four cities across Canada, which has one of the highest incidence and prevalence rates of IBD in the world. There are approximately 250,000 Canadians living with IBD.

Howie Mandel’s Deal With It airs Friday evenings on TBS.

A long-time supporter of the arts in Calgary, and our dear friend, Harry Palmer passed away this month. When we think we know a story, it is easy to assume that the story is complete, that there is nothing more to uncover. However, Harry Palmer’s extensive...
